Daniel Negreanu was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1974 to his Romanian parents Annie and Constantin. Daniel was born 7 years after his parents emigrated from Romania, but even though he was born in Canada, he speaks Romanian fluently.

Daniel has an older brother, Mike, who frequently accompanies him on his poker tournaments and challenging pursuits.

Admittedly, Negreanu was not the model pupil in his early years, having dropped out of high school due to being several credits short of graduation. But by then, Daniel was already spending his time playing cards, pool, and betting on sports, all the while dreaming of being a professional snooker player.

As previously mentioned, Daniel Negreanu’s poker career is embellished with a plethora of accolades, with the WSOP and WPT championships making the top of the list. The player has earned 2nd or 3rd place in many other world tournaments and he was also named “Favorite Poker Player” at Magazine’s Player of the Year Awards Gala.

In 2014, Negreanu was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, and has since become one of the most popular players in the world.
